White Sox Return Home With A Win

Now this is what you would call a complete team victory.  The White Sox had all the ingredients in their 9-2 win over the Angels Monday night.

Another great starting pitching performance from Gavin Floyd who went 7 innings while allowing just 1 run on 5 hits. Floyd has now won back to back starts and his ERA over his last 6 outings is an incredibly stingy 1.27. All the Sox starters have been outstanding over the last month as they are 15-5 with a 2.58 ERA and those are some eye catching numbers.

Offensively the Sox hit 4 HR's on Monday with Carlos Quentin contributing a pair (#'s 14 & 15) with Alexi Ramirez and Dayan Viciedo hitting one apiece. Ramirez, Quentin, Viciedo and Paul Konerko all had 2 hits and Quentin made an incredible catch in the first inning flagging down a ball at the wall while sliding on the warning track.

With the victory the Sox are now a season high 5 games over 500 and still one game behind Detroit in the American League Central. The Tigers also won on Monday while the Twins were idle so the Sox are now just a half game behind Minnesota.
