Bears add QB Matt Gutierrez and DB Aaron Webster to roster

The Bears announced that they have signed quarterback Matt Gutierrez to a one-year contact and defensive back Aaron Webster to a two-year contract.

Gutierrez was an undrafted free agent out of Idaho State who signed with the New England Patriots in 2007. Appearing in five games for the Patriots, Gutierrez completed one pass for 15 yards. In 2009 he was acquired by the Kansas City Chiefs off waivers and appeared in only one game. Gutierrez was released by the Chiefs in June of this year.

Webster, also an undrafted free agent, was signed by the Houston Texans this year after playing his college ball at the University of Cincinnati. While at Cincinnati, Webster played in 45 games, 22 of which he started, and recorded 150 tackles, six interceptions and two forced fumbles.

The Bears will announce the two corresponding roster moves later today that must be made to clear room for Gutierrez and Webster on the 80-man roster.
