Sources close to the University of Wisconsin basketball program have confirmed that UIC will hire UW assistant coach Howard Moore to take over for the recently retired Jimmy Collins.
Moore, a Chicago native and graduate of Taft High School, has been an assistant coach at Wisconsin since 2005 and has played a big role in recruiting a number of Chicago prospects to UW.
Moore played at Wisconsin from 1990-95 and was an assistant at the University of Chicago, Bradley, Ball State and Loyola-Chicago before joining Bo Ryan’s staff at Wisconsin.
