Thornton and Putz headed to DL

White Sox pitchers Matt Thornton and J.J. Putz are officially headed to the DL. The team has confirmed this is a press release where they also announced that Lucas Harrell and Erick Threets will fill the vacated roster spots.

Putz left last night's game after throwing three pitches and then experiencing discomfort in his right knee. Putz has been diagnosed with right knee patella tendinitis and Thornton with left elbow inflammation. Thornton's DL stint is retroactive to August 18.
