U.S. Cellular has plenty of room for activities this weekend

Sox games Friday, Saturday and Sunday against the Yankees at U.S. Cellular Field will be big games on the field. The Sox will be trying to catch, or at least keep pace with, the Minnesota Twins. That alone should drive Sox fans to the games in droves. But, if Sox fans need more reason than that, there are plenty of other activities over the weekend that include fans going home with their own Stanley Cup.

Friday: Blackhawks Night and fireworks officially kick off the weekend. The first 20,000 Sox fans through the gates will receive a mini replica Stanley Cup to take home. Make sure to get there early to grab your Cup because the real Stanley Cup will be on hand with some of its new friends.

The Cup will be joined by The Lombardi Trophy (won by the '85 Bears), one of the Bulls' Larry O'Brien Trophies (NBA Championship) and the Commissioner's Trophy won by the 2005 World Series Champion White Sox. Chicago is the only city to have won championships in the four major sports in the last 25 years.

Saturday: DePaul men's basketball coach Oliver Purnell will throw out the first pitch and the first 20,000 fans will receive White Sox rally towels.

Sunday: The series finale will honor White Sox great Frank Thomas as the first 10,000 fans will receive a Frank Thomas Bobblehead. The Big Hurt's number will also be retired on the outfield wall during a pre-game ceremony.
