The Blackhawk have sent highly touted prospect Jeremy Morin to the team’s AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs. Morin had impressed many with his play in the pre-season, and was even playing along side Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp at times.
Brian Campbell’s injury, may have in part, lead to Morin’s assignment to Rockford. Fellow rookie, Nick Leddy will have to step in and and try to fill the hole left by Campbell potentially leaving Morin as the odd man out. However, this doesn’t mean Morin won’t see action with the Blackhawks this year. As was evident last year with players like Brian Bickell, Joel Quenneville isn’t opposed to bringing up players from the minors and throwing them right into the action.
The Blackhawks open the regular season on Wednesday night in Colorado.
