1 Dead, 1 Wounded In Gage Park Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) - One person is dead and another wounded after a Sunday afternoon shooting in the Gage Park community, police said.

Two people were shot at 3:29 p.m. in the 5500 block of South Kedzie Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety, citing preliminary information.

One person was dead on the scene and another was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

However, Fire Media Affairs Chief Kevin MacGregor said two people were hospitalized in serious condition. One person was taken to Christ Medical Center and another was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.

Wentworth Area detectives are investigating, but nobody is in custody Sunday afternoon.
