CHICAGO (STMW) - A man was shot in the leg during a carjacking Sunday morning in the South Shore community on the South Side.

The shooting happened at 9:15 a.m. in the 7400 block of South Bennet Aenue, according to a Grand Crossing District police lieutenant.

A man was shot in the leg and his vehicle taken during the carjakcing, according to the lieutenant.

The victim was trasnported to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, and his condition was not life-threatening.

Calumet Area detectives are investigaitng.
