CHICAGO (CBS) - An Oak Lawn man was apparently crushed to death at a food plant on the Southwest Side early Wednesday.

About 2:30 a.m. a man identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office as Patrick Lynch suffered a contusion to the chest at a factory at 7300 S Kedize Ave, according to police. The factory is a Nabisco food plant.

Lynch 62, of Parkside Ave., was pronounced dead at 3 a.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to a spokesman for the medical examiner’s office, who said Lynch was apparently crushed to death.

Representatives from the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration were at the plant Wednesday morning and has started an investigation, an agency spokesman said.

The OSHA spokesman had no details yet on the incident as of 10 a.m. Wentworth Area detectives are conducting a death investigation and an autopsy is scheduled for later Wednesday.
