Girl, 15, Shot In Humboldt Park

CHICAGO (CBS) – A 15-year-old girl was shot and wounded overnight in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.

The girl was walking in the 1400 block of North Washtenaw Avenue when shots were fired from a white car at 11:07 p.m., police said.

She suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to Children’s Memorial Hospital, where she was reported in stable condition, police said.

The shooters fled the scene, police said. No one was in custody as of early Sunday afternoon, and Grand Central Area police detectives are conducting an ongoing investigation.

    What is a 15 year old girl doing out that late in such a bad neighborhood? Where are the parents of these kids that are getting shot after curfew? Go home BEFORE dark if you want to be safe.

    She may have been returning home after working, it was only 7 minutes after her curfew time, if she was not working.
