The victim says she was asleep in her bedroom when a man woke her up and initiated sex. The victim says she thought she was having sex with her husband, and when she realized it wasn't, it was too late.

The incident is from two years ago and now a man has been charged with raping this woman in her Addison home.

DuPage County State's Attorney Joe Birkett says the identity of the suspect is not known.

Birkett says the woman's husband was out and the woman was asleep and when the man initiated sex, the woman thought it was her own husband.

Birkett says it's not unusual, "There is no reason to disbelieve her and the police say she voluntarily cooperated. She informed her husband immediately when he came home."

Birkett says he understands how some people might be skeptical of the woman's story, but he says there is no reason to doubt her.

Birkett says the filing of the charges against a man whose identity is unknown says to the victim, we believe you.
