DCFS Investigates Baby's Death In Glen Ellyn
GLEN ELLYN, Ill. (CBS) - Child welfare investigators are probing the death of a 6-month-old girl in Glen Ellyn.
Luz Galicia, of the 300 block of Marston Avenue in the DuPage County suburb, was injured at home and pronounced dead at 12:55 p.m. Wednesday at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Illinois DCFS spokesman Kendall Marlowe said the agency is investigating allegations of neglect against the father. The DCFS has not had prior contact with the father, he said.
Glen Ellyn police are also launching a potential criminal investigation.
An autopsy on Luz's body scheduled for Thursday, according to the medical examiner's office.
