Driver Hits 2 Cars, Dies On Kennedy Off-Ramp

CHICAGO (STMW) – A motorist died after striking two vehicles Monday night while exiting the Kennedy Expressway at Harlem Avenue.

A 30-year-old man driving a vehicle was exiting the Kennedy Expressway (I-90) at Harlem Avenue about 10:55 p.m when it struck another vehicle, police said.

The vehicle fled the scene of the first crash and the driver lost control of his vehicle at the intersection of Harlem and Higgins avenues, police said.

The driver then struck another vehicle, a fence and light pole in the 7100 block of West Higgins Avenue, police said.

Rylan P. Hook, 30, of an unconfirmed address in Palos Heights, was pronounced dead at 11:45 p.m. at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

No one else was injured, police said.

The police Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating.

When people die because of their own criminal behavior and stupidity it’s a plus for society. If that sounds harsh, it’s because nature is harsh.

The silver car in the photo does not seem to have the damage that you would expect n a crash like this

it’s a stock photo that they use for all these types of stories. You might try reading the paper more often Bob :) Have a good weekend and GO BEARS!

Welcome to the new age of journalism, you don’t need a high school diploma to write and you just look through a stock folder of pictures and pick one eliminating any need for professional people……I particularly like the toy handcuff picture they often use…:)

“When people die because of their own criminal behavior and stupidity it’s a plus for society. If that sounds harsh, it’s because nature is harsh.” Who the hell do you think you are to say something such as this? Did it ever occur to you that the paper didn’t give the whole story? Did they give a background into Rylan’s life? Do you know if the car had mechanical issues? Was there something phyically wrong? Ever occur to you that the crash is still under investigation? The life that Rylan lead puts us all to shame! He was a deeply religious person devoted to God and he would never, EVER intentionally hurt another being. Get the facts before making such stupid comments!

I worked with rylan and this was not like him. Something must of been seriously wrong with the car . He will be truly missed

Bob, Karma will hit you sqaure in the ass one day my friend. You, like the people who reported this story, rushed to judge and have all the facts wrong. It was a mechanical issue form what the POLICE are saying. Have a nice life.
