Man Shot, Wounded In Woodlawn

CHICAGO (STMW) - A man was seriously wounded in a shooting Tuesday night in the South Side's Woodlawn neighborhood.

The man, 26, was found with a gunshot wound to the head about 11:40 p.m. on the street in the 600 block of East Marquette Road, according to a police News Affairs notification.

He was taken in serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to the notification.

A witness told police they saw the victim being dumped from a vehicle, according to Grand Crossing District police Capt. Alberta Raymond. A description of the vehicle was not immediately available.

The captain said no one has been arrested as of 4:30 a.m.
