Man Wounded In SW Side Drive-By

CHICAGO (STMW) - A man was shot in the groin area late Friday on the Southwest Side.

The 32-year-old man and two other people were in an alley in the 4000 block of South Sacramento Avenue when somebody inside a dark-colored Chevrolet opened fire about 11:45 p.m. Friday, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the groin area and was taken in "stable" condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said. Nobody else was wounded.

A motive was not known early Saturday, but detectives are investigating the possibility the shooting is gang-related.

Wentworth Area detectives are investigating, but nobody is in custody early Saturday.
