(WBBM) - The sole victim of Monday’s plane crash in northwest suburban Schaumburg has been identified as a member of the family that owns the Wendella boat sightseeing company.

LISTEN: Newsradio 780’s Mary Frances Bragiel Reports

William Borgstrom, 66, of Chicago was a licensed flight instructor and commercial pilot.

He was piloting the two seater plane that went down into a grassy area adjacent to Schaumburg regional airport.

Witnesses say the plane was about 100 feet into the air after takeoff, when it stalled and the left wing dipped to the ground before nose diving into the east side of the runway at Schaumburg Regional Airpor.

Investigators say Borgstrom’s family owns the Wendella Sightseeing Co.
