CHICAGO (CBS) - Four people were seriously hurt when a car plowed into a West Side viaduct Thursday morning.

Four ambulances were sent to the scene at Cermak road and Trumbull Avenue for a vehicle that hit a viaduct, according to an Ogden District police officer.

Fire Media Affairs spokesman Richard Rosado said paramedics responded at 3:19 a.m. and took two victims to Mount Sinai Hospital and two more to Stroger Hospital of Cook County. Both were in serious condition, Rosado said.

The crash was one of two incidents causing traffic trouble on the West Side early Thursday morning. A few miles northeast at Ogden and Damen avenues, a car fire was reported.

The Sun-Times Media Wire contributed to this report.

The damage on that car does not look that serious at all. I guess you never can tell.
