Daley: Election's Over, It's Time To Get Along

CHICAGO (WBBM) -- Responding to the negative tone of the midterm elections, Mayor Daley said attack ads serve no purpose in American politics.

"America needs doers, not naysayers," Daley says.

And, as Newsradio 780's Mike Krauser reports, the mayor said it's time to move on.

He said some politicians can learn from voters who might disagree with one another on issues but still manage to get along.

"We cannot have a divided America strictly on politics on a daily basis," he said. "People are getting sick and tired of it."

Daley says he knows husbands and wives who voted for different candidates. He says they still get together.

And, the mayor says, there was only one issue in the election: the economy. And the party in power for the most part always takes the blame for the uncertainty people are feeling.
