Divers Remove 2 Bodies From Gary Pond

UPDATED 11/4/10 – 3:00 p.m.

GARY, Ind. (CBS) – Dive teams have pulled two bodies out of a pond near Gary-Chicago Airport, where two fisherman disappeared last week.

The Northwest Indiana Times reported that the two fishermen vanished Friday. Officials from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources found a capsized boat in the water that might have belonged to the Gary men, and a van one of the owned was parked nearby, the Times reported.

Two bodies were pulled out of the water Thursday afternoon after a boat with sonar equipment was sent out to the 300 block of North Clark Road in Gary.

The body of water is in a state nature preserve.
