Man Found Dead In Golf Course Pond

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (STMW) - A man was found dead inside his car in a west suburban golf course pond Friday.

At 2:13 p.m. the body of James E. Daw, 54, was pulled from the vehicle that had been submerged in a pond near the 11th hole of the Tamarack Golf Course, Will County Coroner Patrick K. O'Neil said.

Will County Sheriff's police spokesman Pat Barry said it appears the Naperville man had a medical issue or was involved in an unreported traffic accident late Thursday or early Friday.

"Debris from the vehicle was discovered around noon and divers discovered the car had traveled 88 feet into the water," Barry said.

Reports said Daw lived nearby.

Police said there are no indications Daw's death was the result of foul play. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday.
