Wrigleyville Harry Caray's To Close

CHICAGO (CBS) - Harry Caray's statue still stands outside Wrigley Field, and his memory is honored when a guest conductor sings "Take Me out to the Ball Game" every seventh-inning stretch.

But the Wrigleyville location of the restaurant and bar that bears his name is closing, and looking for a new home.

Harry Caray's Restaurant Group chief executive officer Grant DePorter announced that the Wrigleyville Harry Caray's Tavern, at 3551 N. Sheffield Ave., will close down early next week, according to several published reports.

In a Chicago Tribune story, DePorter compared the relationship with the building owner to "a bad marriage."

The Wrigleyville Harry Caray's opened two years ago, in the space previously occupied by Hi-Tops tavern.

Harry Caray's retains its flagship steakhouse at 33 W. Kinzie St., as well as restaurants in Chicago and Lombard. There is also another Harry Caray's Tavern location on Navy Pier.
