Falling Glass Reported In Loop

CHICAGO (CBS) - Reports of falling glass in the Loop is halting some CTA service in the downtown area Thursday evening.

For the second time in eight days, falling glass is forcing the CTA to skip stopping at the LaSalle and Van Buren "L" station -- which serves Brown, Pink, Orange and Purple line trains.

LaSalle Street is also being shut down to traffic from Congress to Van Buren.

On Nov. 10, a street and some surrounding sidewalks in the Loop were closed for two hours following reports of glass falling from the Chicago Board of Trade, located at 141 W. Jackson.

On that day, CTA trains were initially bypassing the LaSalle and Van Buren train station as well.

Further information was not immediately available.
