Gas Leak Reported On Far South Side

CHICAGO (CBS) - A gas leak has been reported in the Far South Side's Hegewisch neighborhood on Thursday afternoon.

A Level 1 Hazmat was reported at 133rd and Brandon in Hegewisch, for a gas leak.

The fire department confirms that someone hit a gas main in a construction area. No injuries are reported at this time.

CBS 2 spoke with an employee at Hegewisch Community Committee, who said someone came in and told them to evacuate around 2 p.m.

She says the gas leak is in the street.
