NAPERVILLE, Ill. (STMW) - An 18-year-old Naperville man is free on bail and awaiting trial for allegedly having had a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl.

Nicholas C. Calvano is charged with two misdemeanor counts of criminal sexual abuse of a victim between the ages of 13 and 16, according to records on file in DuPage County Circuit Court in Wheaton.

Naperville police reports indicated Calvano lives on the 2600 block of Midland Drive. That is in the Brook Crossing area of the city’s far south side.

Police Sgt. Gregg Bell confirmed Calvano surrendered about 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the police station.

Calvano is accused of seeing and having had sexual relations with the girl, who also is from Naperville. “They did have a dating relationship,” Bell said of Calvano and the girl.

The two apparently had sex on various dates and times at locations throughout the city, Bell said. He did not know when the relationship began or how long the abuse lasted.

Court records indicated Calvano has no criminal record.

Free on bail? Isn’t Naperville the same place that is fighting against a restaurant because they think the waitresses will bring a bad element to the area because they will be wearing a skirt? Yet, the same town, releases a child predator back onto the street. Naperville? Hypocriville!
