Updated: 11/22/10 1:05 p.m.

AURORA, Ill. (CBS) - A west suburban woman has been charged with the fatal stabbing of her live-in boyfriend during a fight Sunday in their Aurora apartment.

Faith M. Martin, 25, of the 400 block of North River Street in Aurora, is charged with one count of first-degree murder, according to Aurora police. She allegedly stabbed Willie J. Arrington, 44, after an argument.

Martin then ran to her neighbor's apartment to call 911, then returned to her apartment and waited for police, according to a release from police.

Police and firefighters responded about 1:15 p.m. and had to force their way into the second-floor apartment, the release said. Inside, they found Arrington near the front door with a stab wound to the chest.

He was taken to Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora and pronounced dead at 2:25 p.m., the release said.

Martin was taken into custody by police without incident, and the knife used in the stabbing was recovered in the neighbor's apartment, the release said.

On Monday, Martin was ordered held on $1 million bond, Kane County State's Attorney's office spokesman Chris Nelson said. She'll next appear in court on Dec. 8 at 9 a.m. in St. Charles.
