Grub With Us: Never Dine Alone Again

CHICAGO (WBBM) -- If you don't like dining alone, a new Web site may offer a solution.

Grubwith.us is the brainchild of Daishin Sugano and Eddy Lu. They are hoping to join the growing ranks of Internet start-ups in Chicago. It's kind of like Groupon meets Yelp.

Here's how it works: Users of Grubwith.us pick a restaurant and make a "reservation" to meet other grubbers at the pre-determined date and time. The price of the meal is set at the time of the reservation, but drinks and tips will cost extra.

To get the deal, a certain number of "grubbers"--typically around a dozen--need to sign up. You also view the meal when you make the reservation--and everybody eats the same choices.

The group then meets at the restaurant to socialize and enjoy some good food. Grubbers are allowed to dine and mingle for two hours.

The site launched a few months ago, and the founders are hoping to add more restaurants to the site in the near future.
