BARRINGTON, Ill. (STMW) - A northwest suburban man has been charged with repeatedly sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl in his home last summer.

Adam Michael Bopp, 22, of the 200 block of West Lincoln Avenue in Barrington was arrested Tuesday charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to a release from Barrington police.

Bopp and the teenage girl reportedly met on the Myspace website in July 2009. He allegedly first committed the sexual abuse in July at his home, and then several other times, the release said.

The girl and her family now have an Order of Protection prohibiting Bopp from contact with them, the release said. She is receiving counseling and assistance.

Bopp is scheduled for a bond hearing Wednesday at the Cook County Courthouse in Rolling Meadows, the release said. He faces up to seven years in prison if convicted.
