Hoge: Burish 'Embarassed' About Pronger Comments

By Adam Hoge--

Don't expect anymore fireworks between Dallas Stars forward Adam Burish and Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger.

The two famously exchanged words through the media after Burish and the Blackhawks beat the Flyers in the Stanley Cup Finals last summer, but Burish showed obvious remorse about the comments Tuesday just hours before playing against his former team in Chicago.

"I was embarassed about that," he said. "I think (Pronger) is a hard guy to play against. I didn't like to play against him. I think that's no secret, but what I said was out of line and I was embarrassed about it. I was just trying to be funny at the time and it wasn't anything serious. They could have asked me about Joe Schmo and I would hhave said something stupid about it. It really wasn't meant to be personal and it came out that way and it was something I shouldn't have said and was embarrassed about it. I hope I can just kind of put that aside."

Just minutes after the Blackhawks clinched the Cup by winning Game 6 in Philadelphia, Burish told NBC 5's Paula Faris that Pronger was "the biggest idiot in the league. I can't stand the guy one bit. I hope I never have to see him again and if I see him out there I might punch him."

Pronger then responded the next day by saying: "Where's that? The minors?"

The Stars have not played the Flyers yet this season, but the two teams will meet in Philadelphia Feb. 5 and again in Dallas Mar. 19.
