Electrical Problem Causes Alarms In Uptown

CHICAGO (STMW) -- An electrical problem at a high-rise apartment building sent firefighters scrambling Thursday morning in the Uptown neighborhood.

At 11:02 a.m. a still and box alarm and EMS Plan 1, which automatically sends five ambulances, were called for a report of a fire at a high-rise at 833 W. Buena Ave., according to Fire Media Affairs spokesman Richard Rosado.

No fire was found and crews determined there was an electrical problem in the building, Rosado said.

No one was hurt and the alarms were canceled at 11:20 a.m.
