Man Shot, Wounded On West Side

CHICAGO (CBS) — A man was shot and wounded Sunday evening while shoveling snow in the South Austin neighborhood.

The 41-year-old man was shoveling snow in the 1000 block of North Leamington Avenue when a red sport-utility vehicle pulled up about 6:20 p.m., police said.

Two men exited the SUV and said “give me your money,” police said.

When the man said he had no money, one of the men pulled a handgun and shot him once in the right leg, police said.

Both men then fled the scene and were not in custody as of early Monday.
