CHICAGO (WBBM) – The bitter cold weather wasn’t keeping the super-hearty from getting in their daily jog or walk.
While Lake Michigan pummeled the shoreline, the icy jogging path was closed. But that didn’t keep some people from running at the path’s highest point, or farther north on the grassy area next to Lake Shore Drive.

Christine Kinder avoided it all, and jogged near Diversey Harbor.
“I just started; come and go miles,” Kinder said. “It’s nice. In February it gets really old; now it’s still good.”
Kinder said she was perfectly comfortable running outside in the chilly climes.
“I like it. It’s peaceful. This is why we live in Chicago,” said WBBM Newsradio 780’s Bernie Tafoya. “We can’t run in 90 degrees all the time.”
Kinder’s secret for staying comfortable jogging in subzero wind chills is to wear layers and keep moving.
