Man Shot Dead On Roseland Street

CHICAGO (CBS) — A man was shot and killed Monday night as he walked home in the Far South Side’s Roseland neighborhood.

At 9:12 p.m., a 38-year-old man was walking to his house in the 11300 block of South Calumet Avenue when an unknown white vehicle approached him with two men inside, according to police News Affairs.

Another man pulled a gun and opened fire, shooting the victim who was dead at the scene, police said.

Kiley Murray was dead at the scene, according to a Cook County Medical Examiner’s office spokesman.

No one was in custody as of early Tuesday, and Calumet Area detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.

I cannot believe the comments here.
People must not have read the news last year about the big drug bust and how “Cali” was a big time peddler of $8 MM worth of poison each month into our communities.
I feel for his family, no mother should have to bury a son. But the many lives the product he sold ruined negates his legacy.
Big houses, fancy cars, jewelry and money are not worth being executed in the streets because your drug supplier is afraid that you may give government testimony.

It is sad that in our community we uplift people who brought crime, violence and drugs to our youth.

Dont Judge, another life is gone period, more people get killed than drug dealers. He was never Bigger than God. Regardless to how he choose to provide for his family that isnt our bussiness, If you knew him he was a son, brother, friend, and a father. I believe with all that in order his life had a reason. Now look at what you know teach your children the best you can to be different and hope when that child grows up to make decision on thier own they will do the world better. Remember the person im sure there is more to the picture than his life style

If the crime he committed affected no one but himself, then there would not be a problem. But the product he distributed in our communities has had a devestating effect on lives and families. How he illegally “provided” for his family IS/WAS our business. The people who broke into our homes, robbed us in order to satisfy a drug habit was the basis for him to be able to buy a million dollar mansion, 5, 6,7 luxury cars or even a bike for his nephew.
He was more than a son, brother, friend, fiance and father – he was a peddler of poison and a wrecker of lives.
