Schizophrenic Woman Missing

CHICAGO (STMW) - Police are searching for a 19-year-old woman who suffers from depression and schizophrenia and was last seen leaving her Southeast Side home on Tuesday to avoid a doctor's appointment.

Lakariah Thompson left her home at noon on Tuesday to avoid a doctor's appointment for treatment of depression and schizophrenia, according to a missing persons alert from Calumet Area Special Victims Unit detectives.

Thompson has been without her depression medication and has recently been experiencing lapses in her short term memory, the alert said.

Thompson is black, 5-foot-9 and 260 pounds with black hair. She was last seen wearing a green puffy style coat, blue jeans and black gym shoes.

Thompson livesin the 8500 block of South Crandon Avenue but frequents the area of 79th Street and Eberhart Avenue, the alert said.
