Boy, 17, Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash

CHICAGO (STMW) – Police are searching for a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash Monday afternoon in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.
A 17-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle at 2:27 p.m. near the intersection of Thomas Street and Ridgeway Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien said. The vehicle fled the scene after the crash and the driver had not been found as of early Tuesday.
Jamal Richardson, of the 1700 block of North Keystone Avenue, was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 3 p.m. Monday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiners office.
The teen was standing near the corner when he was struck by a vehicle going north on Ridgeway Avenue as the vehicle lost control, according to a News Affairs release.
A police all-points bulletin indicates officers are searching for a maroon Pontiac.
