Man Shot Dead In Altgeld Gardens
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man has died after being shot in the head in the Altgeld Gardens public housing development.
Police responded to a call at 7 p.m. in the 700 block of East 130th Place and found a 40-year-old man unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head, according to a release from police News Affairs.
Jerome Michaels was pronounced dead at Roseland Community Hospital at 7:17 p.m., according to a Cook County Medical Examiner's office spokesman. He was found shot in the head at his home, the spokesman said.
No one was in custody as of early Tuesday. Calumet Area detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
