Teenage Girl Killed In Sauk Village Crash

SAUK VILLAGE, Ill. (STMW) -- A teenage girl was killed in a Christmas morning crash in an unincorporated area near south suburban Sauk Village.

Lauren C. Kelley, 14, of an unidentified home address, was involved in an auto accident at 2911 Sauk Trail Rd. and was dead on the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Sheriff's police responded at 9:44 a.m. to a two-vehicle crash between a black Chevrolet Blazer and white four-door Mercury, Cook County Sheriff's office spokeswoman Liane Jackson said.

It was not immediately known if Kelley was driving or was a passenger.

At least one person was taken to St. James Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago Heights, Jackson said.

An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday, the medical examiner's office said.

The Sauk Village police and fire departments also responded to the crash, but Cook County Sheriff's police accident reconstruction team are investigating.
