Two Bears Players Fined For Hits Against Vikings

(WSCR) – This has been the year of NFL fines, and most of them have been focused on defensive players.

Chicago Bears’ linebacker Brian Urlacher lost $10,000 for striking defenseless Minnesota tight end Visanthe Shiancoe in the neck and head area, Urlacher’s second violation.

Another Bears defender, rookie safety Major Wright, also was docked $10,000 for hitting rookie QB Joe Webb in the head and neck area and leading with his helmet.

No one deserves to be crippled for life or his career ended because of an illegal hit. It’s about time the NFL protected the players and keep those fines coming. Defensive players need to learn a new way to tackle and Roger G. needs to change the rules on tackling QBs. Once a QB is grabbed, the play is over. No more slipping away; once you’re grabbed, you’re done. This can save some QBs from being seriously injured.

Why don’t they play flag football with QBs.
