Woman Dies After Setting Herself On Fire

VILLA PARK (STMW) -- A Colorado woman died Monday after apparently lighting herself on fire in north suburban Lake Villa.

Mary Louise O'Donnell, 63, of 12203 Highway 67 in Cripple Creek, Colo., was hospitalized after a Dec. 26 incident at 25409 W. Lehmann Blvd. in Lake Villa, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

She apparently lit herself on fire at the Lake Villa address, a source said.

O'Donnell was pronounced dead at an unspecified time Monday at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, according to the medical examiner's office. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

Lake Villa police referred questions to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, which could not immediately comment Monday night.
