CHICAGO (STMW) - Police are looking for a man who sexually assaulted two women at gunpoint in separate incidents in the Far South Side Pullman neighborhood.

The first happened Dec. 15 at 8:20 p.m. when a 24-year-old woman was attempting to close her garage on 112nd Street between South Michigan and Indiana avenues, according to a community alert issued Wednesday by Calumet Area detectives.

The man grabbed the woman from behind, placed a gun to her head and forced her to walk east through the alley. He then sexually assaulted her and, as he left, told her, “Count to 100.”

At 7 p.m. Monday, a 26-year-old woman reported a similar attack. She was walking on 118th Street between Racine Avenue and Elizabeth Street when she was approached by a man who grabbed her from behind, placed a gun to her head and forced her into an alley in the 11700 block of South Throop Street.

The woman was sexually assaulted, and again, the man said “Count to 100″ as he fled, the alert said.

The offender is described as a black man, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 and 150 to 180 pounds with a dark brown complexion. He was wearing a black scarf, black sweat pants, black sweater and black gym shoes.

Anyone with information should call detectives at (312) 747-8271.

I don’t understand why some communites receive better coverage, the residents in this area need to be made aware of this in order to look out for each other and children. During the news cast it was stated “Rapist on the far southside”, not enough details given.

I agree more information needs to be posted around the area these crimes are happening. People need to be alerted. These crimes also need to be reported as happening in the neighborhood where they are actually happening which is ROSELAND, not Pullman.

  • Shari Parker

First and obviously, we all want this perv caught. Secondly, please note that these attacks did NOT happen in Pullman (111th to 115th, Cottage Grove to Langley) – they occurred in Roseland. Please try to get your neighborhoods rightt.

WHY IS IT TAKIN THE POLICE SO LONG TO FIND THIS MAN IF IT HAPPEN IN THE SURBURBS THE POLICE WOULD HAVE FOUND HIM. MAKE OUR COMMUNITY SAFE FOR ONCE.
