Here’s an idea-put a fence around the crime ridden neighborhoods with check points for access in and out. Start checking for outstanding warrants and weapons as people come and go. Throw in a boat load of cameras and have a heavily armed rapid response force to deal with incidents as they occurr. Have a re-occuring lottery to help the innocent upstanding people relocate away from the trash that are responsible for stories like this.

Like your idea Snake, except no responce team required, why risk police & AMT’s. This guy was likely looking for trouble, 2AM, in that area!! He found it!! The “good” people must leave or decide to eacort the negitive element out of their neighborhood. Then those remaining inside your fence will just do away with each other.

I went to high school across the street from where this shooting took place in the 1970’s. I lay blame directly at the feet of the City of Chicago for what is taking place in this community. Federal law enforcement busted a group of policemen who were running a heroin ring out of the Auburn-Gresham police station in the 1980’s. They had been selling dope in this community for years. The police in this community have been more of the problem than the solution to solving the problem. Today honest hard working citizens are abused by the police and the drug dealer are allowed to thrive. I have been accosted and thrown against a wall and padded-down at fifty and the young drug dealers are allowed to go free and sell their wares. This community is already being held hostage by the gang-bangers, drug-dealers and the police.
