Two Teen Girls Raped In Riverdale

RIVERDALE (CBS) -- Two teenage girls were sexually assaulted at gunpoint as they were walking home in south suburban Riverdale Thursday night.

Riverdale police said the two girls, both 17, were walking home after getting off a Pace bus at 142nd and Halsted Streets at about 7 p.m. Thursday when a man approached them, wielding a gun.

The attacker allegedly forced them into a yard where he raped both of them, police said. After he fled, both girls ran to a home and rang the doorbell, asking for help.

Paramedics took the girls to Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest.

Their attacker is described as an African-American man in his mid 20s, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a mustache. He was wearing a large black coat, dark pants, and black scarf.

Anyone with information should call Riverdale police at (708) 841-2203.
