Suburban Blaze Injures Firefighter

DARIEN, Ill. (STMW) – A firefighter was reportedly injured during a fire in west suburban Darien Sunday morning.

The fire started at 2611 Woodmere Dr., according to a spokeswoman for the Darien Woodridge Fire Department.

As of 9:40 a.m. firefighters remained on the scene and the alarm that was initiated for the blaze had not yet been canceled, she said.

Unconfirmed dispatch reports indicate that a firefighter was injured. The spokeswoman could not confirm that and a battalion chief was not immediately available.
