Chicago Filming For 'Dark Knight Rises?'

CHICAGO (WBBM) -- There's a big question being asked about Chicago's ties to a film franchise, and no one has an answer – at least not yet.

As WBBM Newsradio 780's Felicia Middlebrooks explains, executives with Warner Bros. says "The Dark Knight Rises" will be shot in the United Kingdom, Los Angeles, and a third undisclosed city.

The movie will hit theaters in July 2012.

The unanswered question is whether portions of the movie will be shot in Chicago, like the film's predecessors, "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight."

Chicago Film Office Director Rich Moskal says the film franchise director, Christopher Nolan, enjoyed being back home in Chicago and had a great experience. But Nolan is making no promises.

New Orleans and Detroit are reportedly in the running to host the filming. But no official announcement has been made.
