Man Ordered To Ground, Shot During Robbery In Evanston

EVANSTON, Ill. (STMW) - A man was shot in the foot early Saturday after he and his companions were robbed at gunpoint in north suburban Evanston.

About 12:25 a.m. Saturday, the man was with an undisclosed number of companions on the 1800 block of Brown Avenue when they were approached by three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, according to an Evanston police report.

The robbers ordered the victims to the ground and went through their pockets, the report said. The victims were robbed of their wallets.

The armed man then fired two shots in the direction of the victims. The victims fled and one discovered that he had been shot in the foot, the report said.

The robbers were described as black males, all between 20 and 25. One was about 6 feet and 160-170 pounds with a dark complexion, wearing a black ski mask and dark clothes. Another was about 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10 and 140-150 pounds with a light complexion and a long ponytail, wearing all blackclothing. The third offender was described as wearing all black clothing.

No arrests had been reported as of early Monday evening.
