Yesterday, the news broke that linebacker Martez Wilson would be declaring for the NFL Draft. Now it appears his teammate Mikel Leshoure will be joining him.

“I believe I have accomplished everything I can at the college level and want to go after my dream: playing in the NFL,” the the Champaign, Ill. native said during his press conference.

Leshoure was a unanimous first-team All-Big Ten selection during his junior season at Illinois with 1,697 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns. Leshoure also received second-team All-American honors from The Associated Press.

He helped lead the Fighting Illini to an appearance in the 2010 Texas Bowl against Baylor University. Leshoure rushed for a Texas Bowl-record 187 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-14 victory for Illinois. He was named Texas Bowl MVP.

During his time at Illinois, Leshoure set a school record for points in a season as well as touchdowns in a season.
