Man Shot Dead In Family Fight On West Side
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A family fight turned deadly overnight in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.
A 21-year-old man was shot and killed when he tried to break up an argument between his aunt and her boyfriend.
The boyfriend allegedly shot the man in the head during the fight, around 11:32 p.m. Monday at a home in the 4100 block of West Wilcox Street.
Eric Thompson, 21, of the 1200 block of South Spaulding Avenue, was dead at the scene, according to a representative of the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
He had been shot with a shotgun, police said.
The boyfriend then fled the scene, police said. He remained on the loose as of Tuesday morning.
