Pedestrian Hit By Bus In Streeterville

CHICAGO (CBS) — It was a bumpy ride for those onboard a Chicago Transit Authority bus overnight, as it hit a pedestrian in the Streeterville neighborhood.

The accident happened around 11 p.m. Monday at Fairbanks Court and Ontario Street, close to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Police say the pedestrian was crossing the street and was hit by the bus.

No one was seriously injured.

Why is this article written with humor? “It was a bumpy ride for those onboard” – why would a reporter say that about a bus hitting a man since it really isn’t a funny situation.

      i agree. This is tasteless.

First, it’s a CBS feed. Second, it read pretty straight up; bumpy ride doesn’t have to be taken literally.

    more Tribune trash.

Hmmmm…I wonder if the writer of this article would be so cutesy describing this accident if it were there friend or loved one struck.

I WAS THE PERSON HIT BY THAT BUS!!! There was no one on the bus and the driver wasn’t looking in front of him. He didn’t kill me but believe me I am still bruised and battered from slamming into the pavement. i don’t find this comical at all.
