West Side Woman Charged With Animal Cruelty

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Chicago woman who was charged with 32 counts of animal cruelty last year was arrested again on Saturday.

Stephanie Griffin, of the 3500 block of West Cermak Road, was charged with several misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty after being arrested at 8 a.m., police said.

A neighbor called police to complain about conditions in Griffin's apartment and when police arrived, they found she had at least three cats and two pit bulls living in her home, which was infested with roaches and feces.

Griffin refused to sign over the animals to the custody of the city's Animal Control Department.

Last year, Griffin was arrested on 32 counts of animal cruelty, police said.
