City, Suburbs Offer Public Transportation To Bears Game

CHICAGO (STMW) - Football fans attending Sunday's Bears playoff game against the Green Bay Packers have plenty of ways to get to the game -- including CTA, Metra, Pace and numerous parking lot options.

The Bears host the Green Bay Packers at 2 p.m. Sunday at Soldier Field, according to the team's website.

People taking public transportation to Soldier Field can take Green, Orange or Red Line trains to the Roosevelt station then walk east to a walkway through the Museum Campus and under Lake Shore Drive to the stadium at 1410 S. Museum Campus Dr., according to the CTA's website.

Suburban football fans can take Metra trains to Union Station and the Ogilvie Transportation Center then take a No. 128 Soldier Field Express or No. 130 Museum Campus bus to the game, the CTA said. Metra trains also stop at the LaSalle Street Station and Millennium Station.

From Downtown, the Nos. 130 and 146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express buses stop in front of the stadium and also connect with Green, Orange and Red Line trains at the Roosevelt station, according to the CTA.

Pace operates Soldier Field Express buses that depart from the Northwest Transportation Center at 1730 Kimberly Dr. in Schaumburg, 138 Yorktown Shopping Center in Lombard and 126 E. Old Chicago Dr. in Bolingbrook, according to the team's website.

For fans driving to the game, parking facilities immediately surrounding the stadium require a parking coupon and open four hours before kickoff, according to the team's website. The lots close two hours after the game.

A limited number of single game parking passes for various lots can be purchased in advance.

Additionally, fans can pay cash to park in the following lots: East Monroe Street/Millennium Park Garages, 31st Street McCormick Place Lot B, Presidential Towers Garage, Grant Park North/South Garages, McCormick place Lakeside Garage Lot C, Adler Planetarium Lot and Burnham Harbor Lot, according to the team's website. Some of those lots provide shuttle bus service to the game.
