Cubs License Plates To Go On Sale

CHICAGO (CBS) — Are you such a diehard Cubs fan that you want to show it off to the world on your car?

On Wednesday, the Illinois Secretary of State’s office starts selling Cubs-themed license plates. The plates have a Cubbie-blue background and a Cubs logo, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

The plates cost $69. The proceeds benefit Illinois schools, the Sun-Times reported.

The Cubs now become the second local pro-sports team to get their own license plates. The state began offering Blackhawks license plates for sale in November, and some 5,000 have been sold, the Sun-Times reported. Negotiations for license plates are also underway for Bears, Bulls and White Sox plates, the newspaper reported.

To purchase the plates, go to starting Wednesday.

Is Illinois the only way you can get a Chicago Cubs license plate? Why can’t we get them offered in Indiana? We do have die hard Cub fans here also. We’ve probably got more than Illinois.

Get real, no you don’t…Call your Indiana Sec. of State and ask about it – then call your State Rep (who’s probably a SUX fan). That’s how you go about it.

With the attitude of your typical sox fan, putting this plate on your car is inviting vandalism. I know there are good sox fans but the majority are the type that see no problem with dragging a key down someones car simply because they have a Cubs license plate. Sox fans just have a different mentallity.

Hey, Chris. Been around Wirgley Field lately? The entire neighborhood is littered with the biggest collection of misfits that roam the land. Just because your a Sox Hater is no reason to label a large part of a fan base. Just sit back and enjoy another year of pain and agony and empty promises from the Rickett family.

I am wondering, how is it that the CUBS plates cost far less than the Blackhawks plates cost? Does it have to do with winners -vs- Losers?

Just putting a Cubs plate on your car is vandalizing it.

Will that plate match the one inside your head?
